Why paper
Built on paper. On purpose.
We built this as a physical notebook, not an app, because handwriting engages the brain differently than typing does. When you write by hand, you process information — you can't transcribe fast enough to copy everything verbatim, so you're forced to understand it first.
Apps are built to retain users. We built this to help you retain knowledge. There's a difference. Because we never took outside funding, we never had to force this into a subscription, add a dashboard, or track your sessions.
Paper doesn't send notifications. It doesn't update. It just holds what you put into it — which is exactly the point.
